Featured Projects

Over the last 28 years we have supported a wide range of projects, from orphanages in Romania (Husi), a children hospice in Belarus, a school in Zambia, HIV-AIDS work in the Congo, have donated an ambulance in Lima (Rapid UK) and helped countless individuals and other charities.  The list below is by no means exhaustive but provides a synopsis of the main activities of the Foundation since its inception.

Allsorts, UK

Allsorts is a registered UK charity supporting families with disabled children in Gloucestershire and surrounding counties. The Charity Foundation is supporting a project that provides specialist-assisted opportunities for sports for 194 disabled children and their families. Participants range in age from 8 to 25 years and have a wide range of disabilities including physical conditions requiring wheelchair use, mild, moderate and severe learning disabilities, autism spectrum conditions, genetic conditions, hearing and sight impairments.

Temwa, Malawi

Temwa is a Bristol-based registered charity that works with communities in northern Malawi – one of the poorest countries in the world. It serves the communities of Nkhata Bay North, a very remote, hard-to-reach area which is home to around 55,000 people. Contaminated water sources, poor water and sanitation infrastructure, and lack of hygiene awareness are major development barriers for these poor and isolated communities. To address these challenges, Temwa’s Improving Access to Water, Sanitation and Hygiene project that is supported by the Charity Foundation provides sustainable solutions, such as access to water filters and latrines that increase access to clean water and better sanitation, while improving community knowledge and health services provision.

In the project supported by the Charity Foundation it focuses in the central Nkhotakota region of Malawi. The project provides treatment and preventive care for scabies, the commonest skincondition in rural Malawi. It serves 500 households and operates as a part of an existing children’s mobile clinic programme, taking advantage of transport facilities and other services already operating in the villages.

The Leprosy Mission

Since 2011 the Charity Foundation has supported The Leprosy Mission England and Wales, a UK-registered organisation, through the funding of specific projects. The projects provide the means to diagnose, treat and offer specialist care to leprosy patients. As well as healthcare, they provide rehabilitation, education, vocational training, small business loans, housing, fresh water supplies and sanitation for thousands of people in 11 countries across Africa and Asia.
